The Family Brass is a project conceived by Ian Stott in collaboration with Martin Prynn (Composer) and Oliver Watson (Artist) as a composition that involves the intended audience (children), grabs their attention and encourages them to perform as well as introducing the brass family to them.
As an ensemble Chameleon Brass work extensively in education and felt that as well as playing to the children in schools and concerts, children should be involved in a concert. Composer Martin Prynn was given the brief to create a work of around 25 minutes that involves a journey, each instrument having its own theme that the children sing and each instrument becoming a character.
